Post When is Next?
Next begins with any of us Kenyans, either in country proper or out here in the diaspora. Steps must be undertaken to underwrite the next chapter of Kenyan leadership. We can not have this mess in 2012. The current generation has displayed its flawed acumen and a senseless lack of direction and concern for each and every peace loving Kenyan. Our country has been reduced to a bickering haven for ill advised politicians out for self gratification.

I am proposing change. Thats right! CHANGE. But it must start somewhere, and I hope in this august forum, this is where we can begin to define our country and its future and identify leaders who would love to champion the task of defining our next generation of leadership. Next is today. Tomorrow is now on behalf of the future.

I'm not a leader, I will never want to be one, I'm not going to be one in the near future if at all we will still have idiots running our country like they are doing now. I will stay on the side line and cheer, support and vote for my fevorite leader.

Sura Mbaya...my comments are not addressed to you personally but to the diaspora and Kenyans in country as a whole. What is of substance here, to recap on your response, is the issue at hand--leadership. The cultivation of a uniquely and salient culture that out of which will develop responsible leadership for the Kenya we all desire. Some decades back, Africans had seen the light in the essence of genuine leadership...so much they came up with the necessary infrastructure to execute their mission. Together, these great leaders forged alliances and catapulted what we know today as the independence movement for Africa. This sweeping wind of change saw many countries in our beloved continent break the yolk of colonialism and as a direct consequence Uhuru for many nations.

Therefore, out of great vision can emanate sweeping reform, changes that beg to question the vision and insight our beloved leaders had then. But bickering, antagonism, hate and the lack of effective bonding by Africans diluted this spirited movement. Kenyatta, Odinga, Mboya, Shikuku, Lumumba, Nkuruma, DuBois, name them...these were Africans with a keen insight as to what leadership truly entailed. What ever happened? Your answer is as good as mine...we need to dig deep and rediscover what ails African leadership and for the sake of our countries...develop the mechanisms to right any corrections...returning us to a path of true self determination and real progress for our peoples.

Hi Cheptilda, no Caro did not find me and neither have I found her...but God willing one day I shall find her.

hehe,i have manners,i can show R E S P E CT,RESPONSIBILTY,listen to kila mtu's ideas,i am a good guide.i guess i can be one.
Anyway,i guess in order to have a good next generation leadership it has to start with parents ,guardians, elders and all those leaders before us. Growing up i thought a leader, any kind, was a hero. Even my parents. But some parents don't treat their kids well thus they end up rude, not listening at all &treating their peers and other people poorly. That'd defiantly not make a leader of tomorrow!
