douching?????? my foot. that is a paranoia taken too far... what if the stream of water contains chemicals or worst broken glasses or other harmful paraphenalia, the damage to one's reproductive organ can be irreversible. While in the west u can sue for hefty sums in case of damage, here in africa, u can even be jail for inflicting self damage to your body Laughing i think there are bettter things passing through the tunnel than a jet of water/cleaning fluids, after all there are more safer ways of doing the cleaning.

I have always heard you are not supposed to do this, as it invites more germs and microbes into the,,,, ,in there. Plus, there is a specific and healthy Ph 'in there' that is only disturbed by douching. So, never!

common my precious A, did you know that all healthy vaginas contain some bacteria and other organisms called the vaginal flora. The normal acidity of the vagina keeps the amount of bacteria down. But douching can change this delicate balance. This may make a woman more prone to vaginal infections. Plus, douching can spread existing vaginal infections up into the uterus, fallopian tubes, and ovaries. So never risk or if you insist of doing it then pliz pliz consult a specialist.GOT IT?

For me i think its goes without saying that it should be done, like in Kenya its not even a question that comes up it just comes with the territory... but i know some ppl who for whatever reason choose not to do it... as in what happened btwn then and now such that our kale women can now comfortably pick not to brestfeed? help me out here. Maybe the dad should pit their foot down and make sure it happens or what?

Check on this, i think it will be of help to you.
Benefits for Children
???score higher on cognitive and IQ
tests at school age, and also on
tests of visual acuity
???have a lower incidence of sudden
infant death syndrome (SIDS)
???are less likely to suffer from infec-
tious illnesses and their symptoms
(e.g., diarrhea,ear infections,
respiratory tract infections, menin-
gitis)
???have a lower risk of the two most
common inflammatory bowel dis-
eases (Crohn’s disease, ulcerative
colitis)
???suffer less often from some forms
of cancer (e.g., Hodgkin’s
disease,childhood leukemia)
???have a lower risk of juvenile onset
diabetes, if they have a family his-
tory of the disease and are breast-
fed exclusively for at least 4
months
???are significantly protected against
asthma and eczema, if at risk for
allergic disorders and exclusively
breastfed for at least 4 months
???may have a lower risk of obesity
in childhood and in adoles-cence
???have fewer cavities and are less
likely to require braces
Breastfeeding provides benefits not
just for full-term infants but also for
premature and low birthweight
infants.
Compared with premature infants
who receive human milk, those who
receive formula have future IQs that
are 8???5 points lower.
For premature infants, human milk:
???significantly shortens length of
hospital stay
???reduces hospital costs
???hastens brainstem maturation
???reduces the risk of life-threatening
disease of the gastrointestinal sys-
tem and other infectious diseases

Hello preciousA, over 6 months later, you may already have an answer to your question, but here it is anyway. It is not necessary to douche. The vagina is a self-cleaning system.
When you douche, you are likely not only to alter the pH, thus favoring uncommon bacterial overgrowth, but also to introduce other organisms that don't belong there.
