well, that's a clear cut case of politicians who take responsibility for their actions....when is Kibaki & his goons going to take responsibility for all the corruption, stealing the election and causing over 1000 innocent deaths by resigning as well? _________________ a CITIZEN without POLITICAL KNOWLEDGE is a VIRTUAL CRIMINAL....when the POWER of LOVE overcomes the LOVE of POWER, the WORLD will know PEACE....I would rather be HATED for WHO I am than LOVED for WHAT I am not....LIVE FREE or DIE HARD!!!

I respect those guys coz it's not very often that you hear an african leader owning up to his actions and offering to resign. We could learn a thing or two from our neighbours.
How many lives could have been saved if Kibaki conceded defeat in the elections and gracefully handed over power. _________________ "We talk too much, love too seldom, and hate too often."

| Right now The opposition in Zimbabwe wants Mugabe impeached..The latter's party though, retains a clear majority in parliament, making it highly unlikely that impeachment moves would be successful. The opposition claims Mugabe initiated violence and thats rule for impeachment!

Impeachment, aka vote of no confidence in former commonwealth countries exists & is very much alive....thing is one needs a 2/3rd majority of elected legislators to vote for it to be effective....I bet you that's ODM's last resort if Kibaki refuses to step down though they would have to convince another 36 members to join them to vote the bastard out _________________ a CITIZEN without POLITICAL KNOWLEDGE is a VIRTUAL CRIMINAL....when the POWER of LOVE overcomes the LOVE of POWER, the WORLD will know PEACE....I would rather be HATED for WHO I am than LOVED for WHAT I am not....LIVE FREE or DIE HARD!!!

you right Chep...there's no precedent on impeaching in Africa, but just because it hasn't happened b4 doesn't mean it won't ever happen. Like any virgin out there can attest to, it's bound to happen for the 1st time at some point _________________ a CITIZEN without POLITICAL KNOWLEDGE is a VIRTUAL CRIMINAL....when the POWER of LOVE overcomes the LOVE of POWER, the WORLD will know PEACE....I would rather be HATED for WHO I am than LOVED for WHAT I am not....LIVE FREE or DIE HARD!!!

Lets be serious, impeachment is not gonna happen anyway in Africa tomorrow or never soon.
Until leadership is remodelled and assume more of a vested responsibility, its really hard for african leaders to accept and fully follow the process of impeachment.
Kibaki could have easily been sent home on a No-confidence vote after the stealing of the 2007 General Elections, but power hungry mps from across the country except the ODM ones saw an opportunity to jump into the fray and be counted by MR Kibaki as his soldiers hence rewards of the likes of MR. Kalonzo as the VP.
Impeachment is hard to implement and more so when the interests of the people is not at heart by the leadership.
