Juz at the beginning of these years national examination, some invigilators were found at some lodgings with form four candidates, in a clash torn district...., what was very astonishing was the fact that the guardians of morals(people of high esteem) like the teachers are breaking every rule by sleeping with young school girls, the end results usually being pregnancy at the simpler worst and HIV/STD's at the extreme worst.... at these promiscuity rate are these dangers going to be curbed in the near foreseeable future????????????????????

Its quite a sad thing. I think the moral fabric in our society is continuing to breakdown. As Jamnazi so aptly states..."dunia imepasuka mahali". As for whether HIV/AIDS will ever be curbed...your guess is as good as mine. But i strongly believe a vaccine or a cure will be due in kitu 15 years or so if not earlier. The kind of scientific advancement made in research is very astounding.
On the other hand do we really want a cure?How is it likely to be when we do get a cure....more promiscuity ama?...After all, who wudnt mind getting some on the side and then popping a pill afterwards and all is well?

actually, scientific rumors have it that HIV/AIDS cure vaccines have already been developed and are sitting pretty somewhere on western research labs........problem is, some white folks are holding them back for now waiting for the disease to wipe off a few more million humans, the vast majority of whom are colored folks I might add.........thereby reducing the vast competition for the world's dwindling meagre resources ....... .like i said, that's what i hear, don't blame me if i am wrong though i got to say on a personal level, I strongly tend to believe them rumors coz I highly doubt what white folks say

You are right, white folk should never be trusted...at least not too much. History shows that they have used diseases in the past to conquer populations.Take for instance the bubonic plague which they brought with them to North America in the 13th Century and which almost wiped out the entire native american population.

Then there was sypillis which they used on the Maasai during the colonial era .... the Maasai warriors succumbed to the disease and the white man ended up with their land!

I wouldnt be surprised if HIV was their invention and that they indeed have a cure by now, why else would the US Military be involved in AIDS research...think of it Walter Reed is a Military Operation ran by Generals...the same Generals who control the nukes....!!

Couldn't agree more with you kensoy ......such cases where white folks have used brown & black folks as guinea pigs are rampant and not as few & far between as some folks seem to think ......the tuskegee experiment where the US military rounded up black soldiers , injected them with sphyillis and then watched them suffer tremendous pain & eventually die slow painful deaths come to mind, not to mention widespread "innoculations" they did on the native americans whereas in reality they were injecting them with T.B virus in a bid to wipe them off the face of the planet coming a close second.......damn it , while we are at it, don't even get me started on what the european colonialists did to african natives for over 300 years of occupation not to mention what they have done in eliminating Iraq & its people as we knew it while "testing" their new weapons of mass destruction as if war is some kinda game .....needless to say, Mchungaji Munishi is right on the money says when he says, "hawajali kama watu wanakufua, bora sio watu wao", so yes, going by their history it doesn't surprise me one bit that they might have well created the HIV virus to try & use it to eliminate all the fair skinned folks...damn it

You put forward a strong case, and i agree with you that the AIDS pandemic has affected the powerless (read children) the most...their suffering is simply unacceptable.

Lemme pose a question to you then, how soon do you expect these poor children you have talked about to benefit from the cure if indeed it comes?

I have a feeling the drug company which comes up with the cure will patent it for 99 years...so no generics, after all they have to recoup their cash. The drugs will simply be too expensive for Africa which has the highest no. of AIDS patient.

Look what happened to ARVs, a very large number of pple die daily yet ARVs are there but are simply too expensive. How fair is that?

It is very unfair!About the 99 years part,am just praying that this won't be the case.Am even becoming a witch now n wishing that the epidemic sahows its face here in so-called western world so that they come out with the damn cure!And if they don't have it yet,I bet they will scratch their heads and come out with a cure in no time....if it is for the good of their people's health of course!Mann!These racists!!But don't we have blacks in the research labs?

what really suprises me most is the fact that we have the most promiscuous people in the western countries yet africa leads in HIV rates, cases of homosexuality and bizzare sexual acts happen there in the west and those people rarely die of Aids, other than some few individuals, unless there is some things they know that we don't. By the way it is so saddening sometimes to see africans exposing themselves to the dangers they are so well aware of.......

Contrary to some idiot's beliefs, it was not given to the world by the homosexual community. It is believed to have originated in Africa (yikes!) from a mutated form of a virus in a diseased monkey. I actually know how it came about. It is widely accepted that HIV causes AIDS (acquired immune deficiency syndrome) but because we cannot do experiments to prove this (due to morality issues,hehe) the African government can claim that there is no evidence supporting this hypothesis and does not have to supply medicine for its citizens.

but i wonder what will it take to scare ppl into being careful and not contracting it sexually coz obviously the other ways one can't help it. Coz if Aids doesn't make someone stop and hold back, what will?
