Folks, African countries are really burdened right damn now trying to pay off loans that were incurred back in the 60s & 70s when the political stands dictated that you were EITHER with the SOVIET UNION or THE UNITED STATES...needless to say, it's unfair to make these poor countries make payments on loans that the vast majority of their citizens never benefited from coz the guys in power stole all the money & deposited them in their swiss private accounts.........wtf?....well, as a lobbyst myself, I am glad the brookings & the american institutes are both willing to call for these loans to be written off BUT we as recipients need to write in and demand in any way we can for more measures be taken for the benefit of the african child....... Smile

please elaborate further....for more measures be taken to do what??? and by the way those other gluttonous beneficiaries who stole more of it are african children too

Cheptabkoret, I am talking about organizations such as the UN, AU UNICEF, UNESCO, & any non-governmental org's(NGO's), Human rights orgs, child poverty orgs and indeed any org that's outside & independent of african govts lobbying western govts (by way of their local embassies in african capitals)to eliminate the 30 year old foreign debts that govts are currently servicing and use that money to fight diseases, educate every child & fight abject poverty coz according to world bank statistics, some african govts owe so much money it will take them the next 100 years to pay it off....we talking 4 generations here..wtf Evil or Very Mad

good you have elaborated, for such a view... yes the african child will benefit, especially in those fields you have stated.....but africans gluttons and hyena's will still be able to have a feed and puke all over, i know of a certain NGO that was started somewhere, that is suppose to look into aids orphans.... but as the number of orphans increase to live in abject poverty, the directors are so fat and bossy in their SUV's, sometimes i feel like God's judgement shoul be done here on earth Sad

Chep, thanks for your point as eloquently stated above.....i don't disagree with you at all but in my humble kabarangwe opinion, thing is, if we don't start action, who will?, if we don't fight for our rights & that our of our kids and their kids, who shall do so on our behalf?..if we just roll over, throw in the towel, give the hell up and don't fight back who fill fight for us?.....simple answer,surprise, NO ONE Surprised

......, well, to cut a long story short, allow me to quote my Batiem and/or Kogo(for our bros & sisters in the North Rift), who used to say, "every generation has a specific call" .....that quoted, I think our generation's call is for universal human rights, equal citizen rights & an efficient devolved govt that's accountable to it's electorate right from the location, district, provincial to the national levels & if we do that, trust me,........corruption, tribalism, nepotism, preventable diseases, abject poverty, & rampant illiteracy will become a thing of the past & Kenya will finally merge onto the 21st Century where it deservedly belongs Very Happy
